Angelique Lafontaine, author of "A Long Road Ahead" ,Guest Post
It’s been a while since I’ve stopped in and said hello. I hope that everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and is looking forward to a wonderful Christmas and New Years.
I am really excited to end the year the way I am. I’ve met a lot of new people who are extremely talented writers and have a lot of input to offer that has helped me produce work that I am proud to say ventures a little outside of what I’ve been writing.
I usually try to write about fantasy and science fiction, horror or suspense. I like to keep the reader guessing. However, some of my latest works have been more on the drama side. That’s an area I’ve stayed away from for a while. The interesting thing that I’ve discovered though is that entertaining the reader isn’t the only thing that an author can do. Sometimes, it’s just as important to give the reader something to identify with. When found in despairing moments of life, some people find themselves feeling alone and isolated. The drama stories that I’ve found myself writing offer, even if in a small way, reassurance to the reader that they are not the only one who has experienced unfortunate circumstances. Perhaps in that, as an author, I can help alleviate their feelings of angst, rejection, sorrow, what have you.
The drama stories that I have written, can and are based on everyday, real life situations. They happen to everyone. So entering into the holiday season this year is a little bit more special for me. I really hope that some of the stories I’ve written help others find a little bit of peace.
Thanks and I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
