100% of the author’s proceeds will be donated to Give Kids the World, a charitable organization where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacations. www.GKTW.org. Mark Miller’s One is a spiritual anthology examining True-Life experiences of Authors and their Faith. As the series evolves expect to discover what it means to have faith, no matter what that faith is and no matter where they live. Remember that we are all part of this One World.
In Story Seven, award-winning poet Rachel Hunter tells a personal story of her battle with Anorexia Nervosa. Her ordeal is touching and emotional. In this private glimpse of her life, she shows how close she was to dying and the realizations that came with it.
Born in 1993, Rachel Hunter has always been fascinated with words and the intricate way in which they combine. Since a child, she has been an avid writer, winding vibrant tales and elaborate stanzas on folded bits of paper.
As the years passed, her love of words never died; her adoration for reading fared no equal. Always with her nose in a book, Rachel took fondly to works spanning all genres. Yet it was the compelling grasp of fantasy and science fiction that wrenched her fascination above all.
In 2007, Rachel was selected a state winner of the Minnesota Promising Young Writers Program. Accordingly, her winning poem, It All Starts with Creativity, was published in An Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans.
Senior year of high school proved another momentous year. A winner of the Oklahoma Young Writers Competition, Rachel was awarded with publication of her Sestina of Elven Regret in the 2010-2011 anthology, Growing Voices.
But her writing does not end there. Currently pursuing a degree in the medical field at the University of Oklahoma, she aspires to illuminate the creative spark of eager readers. Fulfilling the desire to incite intrigue, she seeks to explore new worlds and create vast empires of her own. Empyreal Fate is only the first of her series. Indeed, it is only the beginning. New Release! Marv Mercer "A Contract To Kill For"
Three murders and two attempts on his life was not what USAF investigator, Major Charlie Snider bargained for when he was dispatched to the island of Taiwan to investigate alleged irregularities in the Air Force’s Taiwan Contracting Center.
This is a novel of conspiracy, bribery and murder in the quest for lucrative United States Air Force contracts on Taiwan: The big bonanza, a $40 million, five year contract.
While Major Snider is en route to Taiwan, the commander of the Contract Center which he is to investigate is killed in an automobile accident; apparently from driving drunk. The problem: the deceased commander was a devout Mormon whose religion prohibits consuming alcohol spirits of any kind.
In order to facilitate his investigation without revealing it to those in the Center and the four Air Force bases the Center supports, Major Snider is assigned to succeed the dead commander. While in this position he gets embroiled in bribery and murder, including two attempts on his own life in his quest for the truth.
The author, a retired Air Force Colonel, spent two assignments in Taiwan, both in the contracting field. There he dealt with its people: civilian, military and government. He gained an enormous appreciation for the people and an insight into their customs, practices and politics. His novel is based on an authentic description of military contracting and Taiwan of the Vietnam era. His first novel, Yearning to Breathe Free, a story which follows the student leader of the Tiananmen protest as he made his circuitously escape from mainland China to Taiwan, was published in 2007.

New Releases by Trestle Press authors!
Sam Lang-Reprisal - Volume 7-A Mind of My Own
Trestle Press presents Sam Lang’s Reprisal, a digital short story series.
Reprisal is a dying town built on secrets and haunted by a mysterious shadow since its beginnings.
Eddie Newport must survive one night in this town with his oldest friend as a bus full of escaped murderers breaks down on Main Street.
To have the mind of a child in the body of a massive killing machine is an unfortunate combination. Dixon Lampier wanted to be gentle. He wanted his kitty. He wanted to play in the snow. Complicated words cannot make it through the haze that is his mind. To him a gentle touch is the same as a crushing blow.
The time has come for the convicts to board the bus and Dixon is the last one in line. The transfer is about to begin.
Sam Lang lived a cold, dark life. Ignored for most of his existence, he developed a fascination with things of a macabre nature. His writing explores the dark recesses of human behavior. Lang writes with heavy thematic elements and symbolism, creating harsh, hyper-realistic characters. Lang currently resides in Florida where he spends his time thinking of new ways to delight and horrify his readers.
Trestle Press has brought him out of the shadows with his series, Reprisal, a murderous tale of escaped convicts in a deserted town haunted by a mysterious shadow. The first six episodes are available as digital short stories from Trestle Press, starting with Making Plans, Making Memories followed by The Impeccant, Shadow Boxing, She’ll Get Your Engine Started, The First Cut is the Best and Sugar and Snails. More chapters are yet to come.
Sam has participated in the Author’s Lab collaboration series with Giovanni Gelati on The Two Johns. He also has the one-shots: A Vampire’s Guide to Sex, a short tale about (you guessed it) vampires and sex, and Theoretical Fishsticks, a holiday story full of dark humor.
Not much else is known of this reclusive author.
Son of Mine- Volume 2- A Journey of Faith
Aaron DeAngelis is a young man working hard to overcome a painful past. His newfound Christian faith is put to the test as he learns a terrible secret his father has been carrying. Will the shameful incident from his father’s past bring about his family’s destruction? In this latest installment “Son of Mine: A Journey of Faith”, Aaron continues his quest for self-worth and strength to heal the brokenness surrounding his loved ones.
Pepper and Longstreet-Volume 2- The Missing Clue by J.T. Lewis
A snobby high school cheerleader turns to Pepper and Longstreet when her father dies. A promised special inheritance has been lost due to a fire. Can Pepper and her mysterious sidekick find the clues needed as they sift through the ashes of this girl's life?

5 Things You May Not Know About Alan Zendell!
1. My proudest lifetime accomplishment is enjoying the fifty-first year that my wife and I have been together.
2. The most memorable moment of my life was being the first person (other than the delivery nurse) to hold my first-born son in my arms. Being the first to hold my second son is close behind, but by then I was an old hand.
3. I believe that denying the existence of a higher power in the universe is the height of ignorance and arrogance. On the other hand, the notion of a deity whose primary focus is humanity is the height of absurdity. Corollary: organized religion and the inevitable evils it spurns (intolerance, hypocrisy, and power lust) are the greatest threats to our survival.
4. I believe the two greatest gifts people can give each other are trust and being worthy of it.
5. Despite all the evidence that we’re doomed as a nation, I have an abiding faith in human nature and confidence that Americans will eventually wake up and get it right.

"Bad Intent" author, Retired FBI Agent Michael Tabman,Guest Post Part II
The FBI was much different from the police department; more than anyone could imagine. During the Academy, we were conducting a practical exercise. My partner was also a former cop, though ex-cops were not that common. During the exercise, we decided to affect an arrest and started placing the handcuffs on the “actor” who was an Academy staff member. The instructor quickly stopped the exercise.
“Did you get permission to make the arrest?” he shouted to my partner and me.
“Hah, permission to make an arrest! That’s a good one.” We laughed at that obvious joke – except, he was not joking. The idea of requesting permission to make an arrest was almost an oxymoron to a cop. Split second decision making kept a cop alive.
I spent approximately ten years on the street as a field agent. My most memorable years were spent on an FBI-NYPD Organized Crime/Drug Enforcement Task Force. This was in the late 1980s and early 1990’s in Jackson Heights in Queens, NY. We were targeting Colombian cocaine trafficking and money laundering. We did it all – surveillance, wiretaps, undercover operations and drug raids. I even executed a sneak-and-peek search warrant, 15 years before that became a controversial aspect of the PATRIOT Act. Not only were the cases exciting, but so were the dynamics of FBI Agents and NYPD Detectives working so closely together. We were different beasts. Despite the strong personalities, long hours and dangerous situations, we had fun. My experiences on this task force served as the inspiration for my recent crime novel short stories, Bad Intent.
I eventually left that task force to enter management for the remainder of my 24 year career with the FBI. By the time I reached Special Agent in Charge, I had held numerous positions, served in several field offices and was involved in the inner-workings of the FBI; I had seen the best and the worst of the FBI. The public would be surprised by not only what the FBI could do, but also what it could not do. A highly accomplished agency, the FBI is made up of people – imperfect, as we all are. Office politics, big egos and petty conflicts were as prevalent in the FBI as in any organization – government or private industry. But through it all, we took on spies, mobsters, white collar criminals and corrupt politicians. And just like any police department, we could not wipe out crime and corruption, but maintained enough control to keep our country safe and secure. After 9/11, the FBI undertook some deep introspection. The FBI quickly recognized that the face of the enemy had changed and needed to change with it. The FBI continues to evolve hoping to stay a step ahead the next impending threat.
When I retired five years ago, I was home decompressing and reconnecting – I had lived away from home the last four years of my career. I thought about all my experiences – from fist fights as a patrol officer to management decisions to media appearances. Most of those memories made me laugh and I thought there were some life lessons to be learned. I put those thoughts into writing with my first book, Walking the Corporate Beat: Police School for Business People. Only after giving several successful presentations on business risk, based on the book, did I find the confidence to publish it. I continue to give business presentations, most notably, “The Stranger” using those concepts to teach executives how to deter and detect hidden operational risks.
My crime novels, Midnight Sin and Bad Intent are hardboiled and gritty and take you to the dark side of the cop world. Law and Order Producer Peter Giuliano described Midnight Sin, “Michael captured his heart and soul as a cop. My heart was pounding. This is a powerful story, no matter which side of the law you happen to be on.”
People always ask if I miss the action. They are surprised when I say no. I enjoyed being a street cop in uniform and in plain clothes, being a field FBI Agent and an FBI executive. Every position and experience was challenging and fun in its own way. Yet, there is always a time to move on.
I never imagined that I would become an author. I nearly failed creative writing in high school. Even my written reports in the FBI were returned by my superiors for being too pithy and lacking “fluff.”
In my presentations and in my books, I tell a story within my story. I hope to leave you thinking and wondering.

Mark Miller's One Series and Charity- A Great Combination!
Authors of One Do Something Good
Mark Miller’s One is a series about faith and beliefs. It is about our understanding of truth and how we are all connected. Every individual is part of this one earth.
With six issues published, there have been some amazing stories. The authors have shared emotionally personal details of their relationships and unexplained, almost miraculous, events. The Authors of One are as varied as our world will allow: a father, an international traveler, a professor, a teenage poet. They also consist of several best-sellers and award-winners.
What more can these authors and this series offer? Every participating author of One has decided to donate at least half or more of their proceeds to charity. That means, in addition to a thought-provoking story, when you purchase a story from the One series, you, as a reader, are doing something good too.
Each author has the option of choosing their charity, but most have agreed on an amazing group called Give Kids the World. This organization helps make dreams come true for severely and terminally ill children by giving them vacations to some of Orlando, Florida’s best attractions. As a father, I have taken my own children to places like Walt Disney World, so this was the best way I could show thanks for the great opportunities I’ve received as a writer. Please note, that none of the authors are not affiliated with Give Kids the World. We simply believe it is an important and worthy charity.
Here are links to the authors and their stories of One:
Meant to Be Mark Miller
Twelve Steps De Miller
Dr. Candy Sudè Khanian
The Hand of God Giovanni Gelati
For the Love of All Melissa Studdard and Scott Lutz
Snake in the Water George Michael Loughmueller
These are the stories that are out now. Still to come are important and moving words from Rachel Hunter, Crystal Linn and Ron Starbuck. Check out all of the other great work they have to offer!
What more can I say? Every author in this series is highly talented, each with a significant voice. Beyond the page, I have come to know them as generous, kind, intelligent human beings. People like these give me hope in a world that sometimes seems hopeless.
Please take the time to purchase these stories for ONLY 99 Cents on Amazon Kindle or BN Nook. At the very least, you will be doing something good.
You can learn more about Give Kids the World by visiting www.GKTW.org. You can follow the Authors of One at Facebook.com/MarkMillersOne.

I am a club DJ and known as Boston's Bad Boy DJ. Why am I called that? I think it is all listed in the subpoenas.
I won a Nobel Peace Prize for my DJ-ing, which some say was responsible for bringing the Berlin Wall down.
I was almost a ZOOM kid, but I lost out to some Marcia Brady look alike!
I was a boxer as a teenager and one of the original members of the Somerville Boxing Club. I used to spar with a young Mike Tyson (Tyson used to spend weekends in Boston area as a broke young teenager).
I think they modeled one of the cast members on That 70's Show after me.

"Bad Intent" author, Retired FBI Agent Michael Tabman,Guest Post Part I
Cop, Agent, Author, Speaker
On my first day of patrol after graduating from the police academy, I got dressed in my freshly pressed uniform at home. I did not know what to expect when I reported to my sub-station in the Washington DC suburb, Fairfax County. Would I even have a locker, or would the new rookie be relegated to the bathroom stall?
Barely out of college, with little money, my ten-year old used car was beaten up just enough to look like an unmarked anti-crime car. Dark and rainy, I drove slowly on the highway, half out of driver prudence, half out of a mind distracted by what was to come. On my left, I noticed a car speeding up. As the car passed me, I noticed the woman passenger look at me – mostly my uniform and then quickly turn to the male driver. I saw her mouth out the words, “It’s a cop, slow down.” Their brakes light went on. I had to laugh. If they only knew that I was much more nervous than they. That proved a great day. I made my first arrest. I wore that uniform proudly. Yes, I had arrived.
After two years of patrol, despite liking my squad-mates and having made some exciting arrests, I was ready to try something new. When an opening came to be the first full-time hostage negotiator on the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, I jumped on it. I went to the interview with no knowledge of hostage negotiations. I was selected and received a promotion to senior officer and got one stripe on my sleeve.
When we were not SWATing, we were in plain clothes, doing anti-crime work. Even those cars were newer and in better shape than the car I drove on my first day. Shortly after being assigned to this team, I was thrust into the spotlight when I negotiated the take-over of what was unofficially known as the “Libyan Embassy.” My last arrest with this team was that of a serial rapist, who had eluded a long and intense manhunt. From the evidence we found at the time, we knew we had just stopped another rape, though we later had to question some of the decisions we made. The complexities and emotions of that investigation inspired the backdrop of my crime novel, Midnight Sin.
I was enjoying that assignment and all the members of my team, but after one year, I found myself leaving the police department on to my next challenge - heading off to the FBI. My mindset was never satisfied once a challenge was faced. Young and ambitious, the FBI seemed like the next logical step in my career. On my last day my captain sat me down for a final discussion. He offered me assurances of a great career in the police department, but acknowledged that he did not expect to change my mind. He told me that one day I would learn to “stop and smell the roses.” Now retired, I understand his message, but I have not stopped looking for the next mountain to climb.

Now Available: "Hot Button Issues For Religion and Politics:The Role of Religion In A Pluralistic Society" by Roy H. Ryan D. Min.
This book deals with the relationship of religion and politics and some of the hot-button moral/political issues we face as a nation. The first part of the book focuses on the historical and political foundations for how that relationship was shaped by our Founders. The second part focuses on issues that have become controversial in both religious and political spheres. No effort is made to provide easy answers to the profound questions raised by
such issues. Rather, the author seeks to help the reader learn to think
biblically, theologically and ethically about these concerns.
The relationship of religion and politics emerged in the formative years of our history, beginning with the first settlers, many of whom came to “The New World” for the very purpose of religious freedom. By the time the Republic was formed, there were many different religious groups represented in the various colonies. The Founders faced the issue of how
to frame this relationship so that the new nation would not be dominated by any one religious group or favor one religion over another.
Two Virginians, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, were the most influential in defining this relationship in the Constitution and particularly in the First Amendment. Jefferson held the view that there should be “A Wall of Separation” between the church and state. Madison’s sought to
have “A Line of Separation”. In both cases it was clear that the new Republic would not support a state-church and would allow for the free exercise of religion.
One famous Englishman, C. K. Chesterton, called American “The Nation With the Soul of a Church”. He further stated that it was the only nation in the world that was founded on a creed---that all people are equal and deserve justice. It is in this context that we will examine the “Hot Button
Issues.
Most of the book is devoted to looking at these important concerns/issues from a biblical/theological/ethical perspective. No simple answers are proposed but an effort is made to help the reader examine these hot-button issues by reflecting on the biblical/theological/ethical aspects of “the problem”.
The issues considered in the text are: Human sexuality; abortion; war and peace; capital punishment; medical technology (end of life issues); religion in public schools and immigration.
The author has sought to be fair in presenting a range of views on these difficult issues. Where appropriate, biblical material is either quoted or referenced, and an effort is made to look at the various traditions within the Judeo-Christian Tradition. The reader is encouraged to think with the author as these sensitive matters are considered.

The Small World Global Protection Agency is an adventure serial aimed at third through fifth grade readers. Each volume will take Josh and Madison to a different country. The stories will be entertaining, sometimes suspenseful, sometimes humorous. Each story will introduce facts about other countries and cultures, educating the reader through the eyes of children their own age while having fun.
Mark Miller’s educational and entertaining series Small World Global Protection Agency.
This new series is aimed at Young Readers anywhere from 3rd to 6th grade and will be available only in eBook from Trestle Press. The monthly short stories will be reminiscent of the adventure serials of the 1940’s with a contemporary setting. Each episode will feature two ten-year-olds, Josh and Madison, as they secretly work for the high-tech, international Small World Global Protection Agency to keep the world safe. The short stories will come in a two-part “cliffhanger” style and expose readers to interesting facts and details of the countries Josh and Madison visit. At the end of each two-part story, there will also be Points to Ponder: five questions or discussion starters to keep parents involved with their young readers! In addition to the Points to Ponder, Miller has created short comprehension quizzes to accompany each issue.
Miller is the author of The Empyrical Tales fantasy adventure series. Book I: The Fourth Queen and Book II: The Lost Queen are available now from Comfort Publishing and Book III: The Secret Queen is coming Spring 2012. From Trestle Press, Miller heads the spiritual anthology Mark Miller’s One. Miller has also written the adaptation of the faith-based movie Daniel’s Lot, available from Trestle Press, as well.
He is a husband and father of four. Miller has a background in elementary education and currently works as a substitute teacher. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Film, which lends to his visual writing style.
The style of the Small World stories has been compared to Magic Treehouse. The series has received other critical praise:
“It's about time someone wrote a story for children in grades 3-5 about geography. Seeing a country on the globe tell kids nothing about the country, but Mark Miller mixes in culture and "takes" the kids to diffferent countries in this continuing series, just the right length too. As a former teacher and homeschool mom, I highly recommend this new series.” – Amazon.com Review
“I find it appealing (as a teacher) that the author has also managed to make the story educational, as well as creating situations and issues that young people will know all about. Madison and Josh have talents, worries and problems like us all, but manage to keep on track with a positive outlook.” – Amazon.com Review
“It's a nice touch that we have both a male and a female co-protagonist, to appeal to kid readers of both genders. And the discussion questions at the end are a plus, IMO. In short, I'd say this promises to be a series that could be quite popular with kids in this age bracket!” – Goodreads.com Review

Rachael is so upset she grabs her head with her hands, trying to block out the sound. Isaac declares he will decide whether the puppy stays or goes, stunning their aunt into an uneasy silence. She secretly invites Jed, the young man that is trying to decide if he is Amish or English, to a Valentine’s Day dinner, hoping to create a spark with him and Ava and to get the “foolish young girl’s” mind off of Zeke.
John, the youngest of the three brothers, leaves the tense household on his bike, nearly freezing as he pedals furiously to town on that cold night. He barges in on his brother Abe (Abram) and Abe’s girlfriend Bliss, totally oblivious to his brother’s plans for the evening. Abe tries to find a quick way to escort John somewhere else, anyplace but there with him and Bliss.
The next morning, Ava maintains her determination to take care of the puppy and to be extra nice to her Aunt Rachael and yet is stunned by the old woman's reaction.
Roger Rheinheimer spent the first eighteen years of his life in northern Indiana. His father was the only doctor for a small town of 1200, and had a hitching rail on a side street by his office for the Amish patients. His father bought an eighty acre farm, and Roger and his older brother worked it, raising cattle and growing crops.
While he was still in high school, Roger learned woodworking skills from Elmer Schlabach, his Amish mentor. They built houses in the old-fashioned tradition, from hand-mixing the concrete for the foundations to hand-nailing the shingles. The only phase they did not do was the electrical. To this day, Roger enjoys using his wood crafting skills, making acoustic guitars and furniture.
Roger earned an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Psychology from a small private college in the Shenandoah Valley, took a Creative Writing class, loved it, and published a short story called My Brother. He was a regular contributing writer to the college newspaper.
Roger has two novels in print and ebook, Amish Snow and Yield Spread: a novel.

Desperate to save her son’s life, Celia pursues a cure through alternative medicine, but her quest ends in frustration and disappointment. Facing despair, hope walks in on the most unlikely set of legs, when her father returns after a 30-year absence. Can she release pain to embrace hope? Will it make a difference, or is it too late?
What some are saying about “After The Snow Falls”:
Intriguing read!, By Lanita B. Boyd
“This book intrigued me from the beginning, but I was especially drawn in as I saw Celia facing the possibility of losing her only son. I was fascinated by the chapters about Alfie and Adele and the renewal of their relationship, wondering how their lives were connected to Celia's and Caleb's.
This book can help parents who are going through similar difficulties when their children are seriously ill and they are searching for answers. They can see that faith goes a long way toward those answers.”
lorialcorn2006
“I just finished reading after the Snow Falls BY Carey Jane Clark and thought it was an exceptional book. I did need a lot of tissues though because its often very sad but it can also be very uplifting.
In this story we meet Celia Bennet, A typical soccer mom who is busy being the best mom she can be. Ceila has no use for her father who abandoned her when she was little and is rather upset that he is back in her moms life. Celia's life is turned upside down when her son is diagnosed with cancer after a soccer game where he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
The diagnosis makes Celia concerned about conventional medicine and she tries to pursue an alternative medical clinic in Mexico, but her hopes are dashed so she heads back to the USA in defeat.
Throughout her sons illness, she tries to be strong and help him face the different treatments and problems that develop. Celia has no faith in God believing he has let her down. She is very surprised when her son develops a strong faith starts to read the Bible and all about the healing miracles of Jesus.
I do not want to give away any more of the story because It a journey you would like to read for yourself.
After the Snow Falls has many levels . Their are the problems with Celia's estranged father who has promised he has changed . The tremendous faith of a small boy who is sure Jesus will heal him and desperation of mother who needs the Lord in her life so she is finely able to forgive the unforgivable.
After the Snow Falls shows us that forgiveness is a choice and that faith can move mountains, that the faith of a child is the strongest of all and that Gods Strength is made perfect in weakness. I would recomend this books to anyone, especially one who has went through a serious illness or knows someone who is going through it . Thanks for reading my review
*After the Snow Falls* is especially pertinent for those who are having trouble forgiving their own parents for their mistakes. As Celia faces her father and his betrayal in her childhood, we can see ourselves looking to our heavenly father for his forgiveness for our own betrayal of him.
Clark has a light touch on a very heavy subject that makes for an excellent story--well-crafted and engaging.”
“Carey Jane Clark is a new voice in Christian fiction, and definitely one to watch. Her picturesque prose and compelling characters makes After the Snow Falls a riveting story, one that will remain with readers long after closing the final page.” - Kathi Macias

Praise for the series “An Amish Journey- Set Free” :
S. M. Fatta "Beauty Brite Reviews"
“As I read this book, it reminded me of the typical American family. Everyone tries to "Keep up with the Joneses." They want the biggest televisions, the newest phone, the new gadget, etc.
Allan realizes how disconnected his entire family is from each other. He is looking for a change. One day, he receives a letter from an old friend that will change his life. He goes to investigate and discovers a different a new start for his family. He has the opportunity to move his family on a plot of land to join an Amish community.
I don't think I could completely live like the Amish, but we are forced to live frugally and modestly. I found this book to be an eye opening story. Anyone who takes the time to read this book will be inspired to change, even if it's a small change.”
